Capacity of Water Tanks

Calculation of capacity of circular water tank in liters. Based on the formula: Volume of Cylinder =   π R 2  · H  Sample calculation. 1) Assume Radius of Circular portion of tank  R=0.50 meters(Diameter=1m) 2) Assume height of tank in meters                 H=1m    3) Cubic Volume of circular portion                     =  π R 2  · H                                                                         =3.14* 0.50 2  *1                                                                            =0.785m 3 4) Capacity In liters                                                           We know as per standard                       1 m 3  = 1000lites       Multiplying 0.785 by 1000 we get 785litres Calculated Values for the capacity of circular tank with different diameters respectively are given below in table Diameter in Meters Capacity in liters per meter depth 1.00 785 1.

Earthquake or Seismic analysis

Seismic analysis is done to determine the seismic forces in the structure.it is based upon analysis applied whether it behaves in elastic state or inelastic state. the analysis is mainly divided in two parts as static analysis and dynamic analysis. Static Analysis - In this method equal magnitude of excitation forces acting over equal time interval. the static analysis is generally used to access the capacity of structural system in terms of deformation and actions. The static analysis may be viewed as a special case of dynamic analysis when damping and inertia effect is zero or almost negligible. it is further divided in two types as linear static analysis and non linear static analysis. Linear static analysis - In this analysis structure behave as elastic corresponding to static types of excitation force and can be used to regular structure having limited height. In elastic analysis, stiffness characteristics of structure is assumed to be constant during whole duration of
